Q: Do I have to use a
cell phone that has a professional hands-free car kit?
A: Yes. The professional car kit provides
the control ground mute signal with which the Triad needs to function properly.

Q: Is it okay to use the
microphone that came with the car kit in my Saab?
Yes. If you don't want to pay the extra
labor to have the wiring installed to utilize the incorporated
Saab microphone, you can easily use the Nokia microphone.

Q: Do I have to use the
car kit cell phone microphone in my Saab?
A: We recommend that you use the external
microphone that is included in your professional hands-free
car kit This microphone produces a larger electrical signal
than the low impedance portion of the internal OnStar microphone.
The use of this car kit microphone will reduce the possibility
of noise pickup and provide a better communication link.

Q: Do I need to use the hands-free speaker that came with the professional car kit?
A: Yes – The only way you can use the
system to make conference calls (OnStar with “Personal
Calling”) or interact with a mobile phone caller during
an OnStar call is to use the speaker. We feel you’ll
get the most from the installation if you use the speaker
supplied in the professional hands-free car kit.

Q: Can OnStar and my mobile
phone be active at the same time?
A: Yes - for example, when the Triad is installed
using our instructions, you can keep a mobile phone call
live
while getting directions to your destination from OnStar.
And since the mobile phone call remains live, the caller
can
hear the same directions, so you don't have to repeat them.
Once the OnStar call is terminated, the mobile phone call
is returned to the vehicles audio system.

Q: Can I use the Saab microphone
for both OnStar and my mobile phone?
A: Saab's 9-3 and 9-5 models (with OnStar)
come from the factory equipped with a dual output microphone.
OnStar is using the high level output, leaving the Alpo
level output unused. By following our installation instructions,
you can utilize the Saab integrated microphone for both
systems.
That makes it premium.

Q: Do I also need the
Saab phone connector to interface with the Triad?
A: You do not need the Saab accessory harness;
we have incorporated that wiring into the Triad.

Q: Will OnStar remain
functional once the Triad is installed?
A: Yes - OnStar will remain functional.

Q: What additional cradle
parts do I need?
A: For safety reasons, we recommend you purchase
a phone bracket to securely hold your mobile phone in place
while driving. If you are a Saab owner, we recommend the Saab
phone bracket as it is the best choice if you want your mobile
phone to have the appearance of being integrated into your
Saab's console. Optionally, Nokia also makes a bracket to
hold your mobile phone.
